February 2026 Newsletter

Goodbye 2025, Hello—Wait, How Is It Already February?

Can you believe it? 2025 is gone… and January is already over. Only 11 months left to go! If 2026 is anything like 2025, Tucker Pride is in for an incredible ride.

Tucker Pride made a splash at the 2025 Tucker Day parade—so much so that we even landed a feature photo in The Decaturish! Did you catch that link? No? Oh, it happens be right here. I didn’t plan it, but that’s me (David) in the photo. 😊

In October, our amazing crew and supporters showed up loud, proud, and fully accessorized for the Atlanta Pride Parade, rocking our signature Tucker Pride shirts, and making lots of noise yelling, blowing whistles, ringing cowbells (we need more cowbell!), and shooting bubbles with our bubble guns. If you missed the post on facebook, check out the photo album. The album also has a brief video clip of our group as we walked past the Atlanta News First cameras! Tucker Pride on TV, baby!

Along the way, your Tucker Pride team showed up across the metro area, celebrating community not just at Atlanta Pride and in the Atlanta Pride parade, but also at Gwinnett Stripers Pride Night, Atlanta Braves Pride Night, Gwinnett Pride, and Smyrna Pride. In Tucker, we hosted LGBTQIA+ youth social mixers and game days with our wonderful partners at Infinite Realities (check ‘em out on facebook and look for the photos from our first event), and we gathered friends and allies for social mixer and wine tastings at our favorite wine shop, Wine & Whimseys.

2025 also marked our first time attending the United States Association of Prides conference, which was held right here in Atlanta. We were deeply moved by Gabrielle Claiborne’s talk on Heart Allyship and we were left absolutely inspired by Stacey Abrams’ powerful keynote—there truly wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

USA Prides 2026 Conference

And we’re not stopping! Your Tucker Pride crew is headed to this year’s United States Association of Prides conference, hosted by our friends with Milwaukee Pride…in Milwaukee. Yes, it’s going to be cold this week. Please send warm thoughts (and maybe thermal layers) to your Tucker Pride crew—we’re not entirely convinced our long underwear shipment will arrive in time! We’re honored to be attending as recipients of a conference scholarship, with most of our travel and lodging covered thanks to the generosity and mutual support of USA Pride organizations across the country.

Tucker Day 2026 -May 2nd

Looking ahead, Tucker Day is just around the corner! You’ll find your Tucker Pride crew set up alongside our besties at Free Mom Hugs on First Avenue off Main Street. Come by, say hello, grab a hug, and celebrate with us. If you’ve got your Tucker Pride shirt, we’d LOVE to see you wearing it that day. And if you don’t have one, stop by our booth, donate, and get one! Want to walk in the Tucker Day parade with us? Let us know and we’ll get you on the sign-up sheet. The more, the prouder! Tucker Day opens at 9AM and the “Human Powered Parade” kicks off at 10AM.

Money Talk….

In 2025, our community showed up in a big way—bringing us to 71% of our $7,000 fundraising goal. Every dollar helped us keep Tucker Pride moving forward, and we’re proud of what we accomplished while keeping our expenses lean and focused. Still, there’s no denying it: when we fall short of our goals, our impact has limits.

Now it’s time to think bigger.

For 2026, we’re setting our sights on an ambitious—but achievable—goal of $10,000. This funding will support our core programs and help us take an exciting next step: hosting our very own Pride event right here in Tucker.

And the timing couldn’t be better. The new Tucker Town Green is ready. Ready for color. Ready for music. Ready for artists, performers, and a joyful celebration centered on the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies. A homegrown Pride event in Tucker would be huge—and with your help, it can happen.

Announcing: Our 2026 fundraising campaign!

Tucker Forward is more than a slogan—it’s a promise. A promise to move our community toward greater visibility, stronger connections, and a future where LGBTQIA+ folks are not just welcomed, but celebrated right here in Tucker. Every donation pushes us forward—toward new events, new opportunities, and a Pride celebration that reflects the joy, creativity, and resilience of our community. This is our moment to step boldly into what’s next. This is about more than dollars. It’s about visibility, belonging, and moving our community Tucker Forward. Let’s move Tucker Forward—together! Donate today and help us turn this vision into reality. Visit our donation page at https://tuckerpride.org/donate.

Want to make your donation go even further?  Check with your employer about matching gifts! Many companies will match employee donations—sometimes dollar for dollar—doubling (or even tripling) your impact at no extra cost. It’s one of the easiest ways to help boost our funding and move Tucker Forward just a little faster. A quick check could mean a big win for Tucker Pride!

In search of talent, energy, and determination

Social Media Director Wanted

Are you the kind of person who actually enjoys keeping up with social media trends, posts consistently, and knows the difference between a story, a reel, and a post (bonus points if you can explain it to the rest of us)? We’re looking for a Social Media Director who can keep our community in the loop, hype our events, and make sure Tucker Pride shows up online as vibrantly as we do in real life. If you can turn happenings into posts and posts into engagement—we should talk!

Board Member Extraordinaire

We’re also on the hunt for someone to join the Tucker Pride Board of Directors. This is your chance to help shape the future of Tucker Pride while doing meaningful, community-driven work. Board members help plan and execute events, support fundraising efforts, guide our mission—and yes, enjoy all the “fun stuff” that comes with being part of a passionate, purpose-driven team. If you want a seat at the table where good ideas turn into real impact, this might be your moment.

Committee Leaders and Members

We’re currently seeking committee leaders and committee members—folks who want to support Tucker Pride by helping organize, plan, and execute our events throughout the year.

Committee members play a hands-on role behind the scenes: brainstorming event ideas, helping with logistics and timelines, coordinating volunteers, supporting outreach and promotions, and showing up on event days to help things run smoothly. Leadership roles may also help guide planning, keep things moving between meetings, and serve as a bridge between the committee and the board.

If you have skills, ideas, or energy to contribute—but aren’t ready to commit to a board position—this is your sweet spot to make a real, meaningful impact in the organization while staying flexible.

Interested? Curious? Slightly intrigued? Reach out—we’d love to hear from you!

Cheers!

–Your Tucker Pride team: David & Kevin
