June 2026 Newsletter

Welcome to June: A Month of Pride, Visibility, and Community

Tucker Pride celebrates Pride all year long. One month just isn’t enough to live authentically. We recognize June as Pride Month, honoring the events at Stonewall in June 1969, a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQIA+ visibility and equality. But the story of Pride did not begin, nor did it end, at Stonewall. Let’s also reflect on the earlier acts of courage and resistance, the decades of advocacy, the remembrances of loved ones lost, the community-building, and the progress. LGBTQIA+ history is woven throughout every month of the year.

Pride Month gives us a special opportunity to celebrate openly together. Let Pride Month also remind us that inclusion, belonging, visibility, and support matter all year long. #Pride365.

A Proud Moment for Tucker

We invite you to join your Tucker Pride crew on Monday, June 8th, at Tucker City Hall as the City of Tucker recognizes Pride Month during the City Council meeting. Mayor Anne Lerner will present an official Pride Month proclamation celebrating our LGBTQIA+ community and the importance of inclusion, visibility, and belonging in Tucker.

We recommend arriving early to allow time for parking and entry through City Hall security. The City Council meeting begins at 7:00 PM, with a brief meeting scheduled just beforehand at 6:45 PM. The Pride Month proclamation is near the top of the agenda, so it should take place shortly after opening procedures and initial agenda items.

Tucker Pride will also have rainbow flags available while supplies last, so arriving early is encouraged.

Atlanta Braves Pride Night, Thursday June 4th

This Thursday is Pride Night at the Atlanta Braves, and your Tucker Pride crew will be in attendance. We have also been informed, that one of our Tucker locals is going go be singing with Oursong, the LGBT+ chorus, performing the National Anthem! Congratulations if you have your Pride package tickets, because it appears the Pride package is sold out. Whomp whomp! But regular tickets may be available. Head there fast so you can still enjoy the game.

Atlanta Pride Parade, Sunday October 11th

The Atlanta Pride Parade will be here before you know it, and Tucker Pride has secured a spot in the lineup! If you didn’t get a chance to walk with us in the parade last year, here’s your opportunity! Sign up here tuckerpride.org/parade. We will reach out to you as we get closer to the date to confirm your participation and to provide additional details.

Tucker Pride Community Activity and Coloring Book Fundraiser Update

We have extended the deadline for youth submissions of art to our activity and coloring book. Our new deadline is June 30, 2026. Our original deadline was a bit too close to the end of the school year, and we do recommend finishing schoolwork before making fun drawings. But with school out of the way—no more excuses! Details for youth artist submissions can be found on our website at tuckerpride.org/art. Please help spread the word!

We have collected 70% of our $7,500 funding goal! A huge THANK YOU to our “Curator” tier donors! Our anchor sponsor, Infinite Realities: Comics, Games & More, and our latest sponsor, Lamar Law Office! These sponsors have provided 33% of our funding goal! Their donations have made a significant impact on our ability to produce and distribute the coloring book to Tucker’s youth. Thank you Infinite Realities and Lamar Law Office!!

And many thanks to our community impact donors: the “Muses”, “Sketchbook Artists”, “Doodle Crew”, and our “Finger Painters” tier donors. All donors are crucial to making this community project a success. Thank you for building something meaningful with us!

There is still time left for you to become a supporter of this project! View our donor recognition page at tuckerpride.org/donate to view the companies and people who have already made a difference, to view our sponsorship package details, and to make a donation to the campaign. Many of our donor levels get donor names published in the book, some include space for dedications or affirmations, and some levels reserve a half page or even a full page for corporate logos or other coloring art work. If you have questions regarding donating at any of the tiers, please reach out by replying to this newsletter, or contacting us at info@tuckerpride.org. Every contribution helps us put this book into more hands. Every contribution shows your support. Every contribution matters.

May’s Unwind & Uncork: A Wine Tasting for Mental Wellness event

Last, but not least, Thank you to those of you attending our Unwind & Uncork: A Wine Tasting for Mental Wellness event at Wine & Whimseys. This event was highlighted by our friends at Compassion Cove Counseling. Leigh provided some practical self-help guidance for us as we acknowledged Mental Health Awareness Month.

Your Tucker Pride crew is working on scheduling more events for the year. Keep your eyes and ears open!

Cheers!
