Our next spotlight is on Maurice Thomas — and we have some concerns.
Maurice asks you to imagine if Ruben Studdard couldn’t really sing, never went on American Idol, went to a Southern college to major in theatre and minor in Africana Studies, and worked at a Huddle House instead of a Waffle House because he couldn’t fight.

Well, Maurice sat next to that guy on the train. Hmmm…
An Atlanta native, Maurice is a comic, actor, voice-over talent, and co-host of the podcast Blerds Guide to the Galaxy. On stage, he shares stories about growing up as a smooth-sounding yet awkward black nerd, working various odd jobs, and generally dealing with the absurdity of life — apparently all in pursuit of the free comic drinks.
Now, we have heard that Maurice lives in Tucker, which normally works heavily in someone’s favor. We don’t really have bad people here.
But we’re going to be candid: this bio is suspicious.
And then, as photographic evidence of his character, Maurice sent us a picture of himself with a cat.
A cat.
As if that is supposed to establish credibility.
Maurice, we’ll be watching you.
