Stand Up for Pride–MEET GLORIA WHITE

Next up in our Stand-Up for Pride lineup is Gloria White!

Now, we’d like to say that Tucker Pride conducts a rigorous and highly professional vetting process for all of our performers. Unfortunately, Gloria made that difficult by spending her birthday week at Disney World instead of promptly responding to our interrogatory email.

Apparently, “I’m celebrating my birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth” is now considered an acceptable excuse. Fine.

Gloria is an Atlanta native and Tucker resident who has been performing stand-up since 2021. She’s performed at comedy clubs and venues around the country, opened for nationally touring comedians Amber Wallin and Sydnee Washington, and was a featured performer at the Detroit Women of Comedy Festival.

By day, Gloria works as a technical recruiter—which means she professionally evaluates people for a living. So now we’re a little concerned that while we thought we were interviewing *her*, she may have been quietly assessing *us*.

Her comedy draws on family, dating, work, pop culture, and navigating life as a Black woman in the South.

And when she’s not recruiting, performing, watching football, or plotting her next Disney escape, Gloria is the devoted mother of Cyrus, a 30-pound Corgi who contributes absolutely nothing financially to the household.

Wait. Another Corgi?

Our emcee Robert Thompson has a Corgi named Briggs. Gloria has Cyrus.

This entire comedy show could be just an elaborate Corgi operation. After Maurice Thomas submitted photographic evidence involving a cat, we’re no longer ruling anything out.
